The 6 Biggest Objections you will face in building your Network Marketing Business

If you missed the previous post, CLICK HERE to get the first 3 objections in the last post.  We talked about 3 out of the 6 most common objections you will encounter in your Network Marketing business.  The first 3 objections are very common especially the money and time objections.  Here are the last 3 most common objections that you might encounter.

Objections #4- Pyramid Objection

First of all what is a Pyramid Scheme?  Here is the definition of Pyramid Scheme: A pyramid scheme is a non-sustainable business model that involves promising participants payment or services, primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, rather than supplying any real investment or sale of products or services to the public.

If you are part of a reputable network marketing company you can very easily handle the pyramid scheme objection.  As long as you are marketing a service or product and not just a “Cash or Money Game” you are not involved in a pyramid scheme.  The DSA- Direct Selling Association is a great place to find legitimate and stable companies to get involved with.

If you look at the diagram to the right, you can see that almost every structure is set up as a “pyramid” so that is why people get confused and call Network Marketing a pyramid when reality the model they are in right now is probably set up the same way.  The difference is that in Network Marketing, you can pass up your Sponsor and make more money than them.  However, in a job situation you might not ever be able to reach the top of the organization or pass up the CEO.  Here is a great post to help pick a solid company.  CLICK HERE.

Here are a few quick tips and phrases that I use:

  • Always answer a Prospects question with a question
  • They give you any objection, then I use “I don’t know about that, but all I know is…..”
  • If I could show (insert objection)…would you get started today?

See the examples below on how I use these phrases.

Example 1

Prospect: Is this a pyramid scheme?

You: I don’t know about that, but all I know is that one of my business partners in my company went from being bankrupt, not having enough quality food to put on the table, and to having to put his dogs to sleep, to now earning $80,000 month in his first year and living the lifestyle most people dream about.

You: So Mr./Mrs. Prospect do you want to make a little bit of money or a lot of money?

Prospect: A Lot!

You:  Well then, welcome aboard!  It takes 5 minutes to sign up, how would you like to pay? Visa, Mastercard or Discover…

Example #2

Prospect: Is this a pyramid scheme?

You: What do you mean by a pyramid scheme?

Prospect: You know one of those businesses that you recruit a bunch of people to earn money from them?

You: Are you looking for one of those type of businesses?

Prospect: No!

You: Great, welcome aboard!

Example #3

Prospect: Is this a pyramid scheme?

You: Huh?! (Give them that puzzled look) No, of course not! (Have fun with this one)

You: Here…it only takes 5 minutes to sign up!

Example #4

Prospect: Is this a pyramid scheme?

You: Do you mean like in Corporate America? You know where there is a CEO at the top, then you have Senior Vice Presidents, then you have Regional Managers, then you have Area Managers, then there you are way at the bottom.

You: Do you like it that your boss makes more money than you?

Prospect: No

You: Wouldn’t you like to make more money than your boss?

Prospect: Yes

You: Great…do you want to make a little or a lot of money?

Prospect: A Lot!

You: Great!  Let’s get you enrolled in the computer it only takes 5 minutes!!

Objections #5- Can I do this and will I get the support?

Prospect: Can I do this and will I get support?

You:  Yes, all you have to do is follow a S.Y.S.T.E.M, lean on the tools and the Leadership Team.  Let me ask you a question, can you follow an easy S.Y.S.T.E.M?

Prospect: Yes

You: Do you want to make money fast or slow?

Prospect: Fast

You: Great! It takes 5 minutes to get started and then we’ll show you how to get started fast with our S.Y.S.T.E.M and start achieving (insert their why).

Objections #6- Is this Network Marketing?

Example 1:

Prospect: Is this Network Marketing?

You: Are you looking to join a Network Marketing company?

Prospect: No

You: Great! Then we need to talk! (Show them the service or product only)

Example 2:

Prospect: Is this Network Marketing

You: Are you looking to join a Network Marketing company?

Prospect: Yes

You: Great! Then we need to talk! (Show them the opportunity)

Note: Regardless of their answer- It’s always GREAT! Then we need to talk! Then tailor your presentation to what they are looking for.

As you can see handling objections isn’t that bad.  If you work with a great Success Team, you should hear all of the possible objections you will face and how to handle them.  These are the most common objections that I have faced and if you do enough activity you will become a master of handling objections.  Even though you might not be able to overcome all the objections, just remember this acrostic- S.W.S.W.S.W.N.- Some Will, Some Won’t, So What, NEXT!
